I'm having a really frustrating issue with my internet. I use Xfinity, and while everyone else can connect just fine, my Omen 16 laptop seems to be a different story. When I try to connect to networks other than a slow 2.4g extender, it says I'm 'connected, secured', but I can't access any websites. I've tried a ton of potential fixes, including disabling and re-enabling IPv6, running various network commands in CMD, changing DNS servers, performing network resets, rebooting my modem and router, and even using a mobile hotspot. I can connect to the extender, but that's way too slow for me. If anyone has suggestions to solve this, please help out. It's pretty urgent!

Have you tried booting from a live OS like Ubuntu? It helps to see if this is a driver issue or something more fundamental between your laptop's network card and your modem/router. I've had similar issues before and it really pinpointed the cause for me. You might find it connects just fine with Ubuntu, which could mean your current setup has a hiccup.

Could you explain how to do that? It sounds interesting!
