Struggling with Low Performance on My i7 11700F and RTX 4070 Ti

I'm having some issues with the performance of my setup which includes an i7 11700F (using the stock cooler), 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 4070 Ti. While playing Fortnite, I'm only hitting around 150 FPS on mid/low settings, and the frame rate seems to fluctuate quite a bit. What could be causing this lag?

It could also be due to background applications running on your PC. With only 16GB of RAM, it might not be enough for your needs, causing instability. You might want to monitor what's running in the background.

I’d be concerned about your case ventilation too. If you’re using a stock heatsink, it’s likely that the heat buildup is throttling performance to protect the components. Plus, for gaming with your specs, aiming for 32GB of RAM would be ideal.

Yeah, heat can definitely cause issues. It's worth checking that all your fans are working well and considering some extra cooling if needed.

I have a theory that you might be experiencing a CPU bottleneck. My setup with an i7-10700 and RTX 2060 shows that my CPU can limit the performance even on medium settings.

First thing to check is the temperatures on your CPU. It might be thermal throttling because you're using the stock cooler. If that’s the case, consider upgrading to a better cooler for better performance.
