Hey everyone, I recently turned 18 and switched to an Android device, which made me realize I still have the Family Link restrictions applied to my Google account. I initially had my birthday set as September 15, 2005, but Google still sees my account as a child account, which is super frustrating because I can't remove the supervision, even from my parents' accounts. Whenever I try to change my birthday, it tells me I need to be under 16. So, I tried changing my birthday to September 16, 2009, thinking it would let Google recognize that I just turned 16 and lift the restrictions automatically. But it didn't work! Now I'm stuck with an account that thinks I'm under 16, and I can't verify my age because Google thinks I'm a kid. It's a catch-22! I really don't want to create a new email and switch everything over, so if anyone has advice on how to solve this, I would greatly appreciate it!

Sounds like you got stuck in a loop with Google's age verification. The birthday change is usually the way to go, but if it's not recognizing it, you could try reaching out to Google support directly for help. They might be able to reset your account status without needing proof. Just be clear about your issue!
I think contacting support is my best bet at this point. Thanks for the suggestion!
