Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a new Linux distro since I'm getting a bit bored with Ubuntu. Here are a few things I'm looking for: 1) Ideally, I'd like to stick with Gnome, although it's not a deal-breaker. 2) I'm open to distros based on Debian or Fedora. 3) I want something that actually runs Among Us, as I've had issues with that on Ubuntu (some friends say it works fine for them though). 4) I have some experience but I'm leaning toward a distro that's user-friendly and straightforward. 5) Also, a distro that keeps itself fairly updated would be great. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I think Linux Mint could be a good fit for you as well. It’s quite user-friendly, has a similar feel to Ubuntu, and you can choose the desktop environment that suits your preferences!
You might want to check out the distro selection page in the Linux4Noobs wiki. They've got loads of resources there! My advice is to always back up your data, try the distros out in a VM first, and make sure you understand any commands before hitting enter!
If you're looking for something based on Debian, definitely give Debian itself a shot. It's super reliable, runs great on most hardware, and you won't get bogged down by unnecessary complications. No need to make things harder than they need to be!
You could simply download a bunch of images and run them from a USB stick. That way, you can try out different ones without installing them on your system. Just find the one you connect with the most!
Have you considered trying out Fedora or even Knoppix? They’re both solid choices and have their own unique strengths. Fedora has a great community and is quite polished.
That’s some solid advice! I agree, using a VM can save you from a lot of headaches.
