Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on making a career switch. A little background: I'm 27 years old and I have a first-class BSc in Business Management from a UK university. The thing is, I'm really not interested in the business roles my degree offers, and I've been passionate about software development for quite a while. A few years back, I completed CS50P, and now I'm ready to make this change into a serious career. My plan is to start with frontend development, then branch into backend, cloud computing, and eventually get into AI/ML. I'm prepared for the long haul with a project-heavy portfolio and using resources like Coursera and YouTube. My biggest concern is whether my business degree will hold any weight when applying for tech jobs or if I'll just be filtered out because I lack a CS degree. Should I stick to my plan, or do I need to consider going back for a degree, which isn't really feasible time-wise? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you considered starting in a testing role instead of jumping straight into programming? Testing could give you a good insight into the development process, and it might be easier to get a job in that area without a CS degree. Start there, learn the ropes, and see where it takes you. It's not the same as straight dev work, but it can really help you build experience and understanding.
