Thinking About Switching from Windows 10 to Linux: Is It Worth It?

I'm considering switching my OS from Windows 10 to Linux because my PC is struggling, and I can't upgrade to Windows 11. I don't play multiplayer games, so I don't think that will be a problem. I have a few questions:

1) Will I experience better performance with games like The Binding of Isaac or Alien Isolation on Linux?
2) Which Linux distribution is best for beginners? I have no prior experience with Linux.
3) Is it really worth it to switch, or should I just stick with Windows?

For someone new to Linux, I'd suggest starting with a user-friendly distro like Linux Mint or Ubuntu. They both have solid community support and are pretty straightforward for beginners. If you want something more lightweight, consider going with Xfce.

Totally agree! Linux Mint with Xfce is perfect for reviving older machines. My old laptop runs so smoothly now that I've switched!

From what I've seen, switching can really boost performance for games, especially with compatibility layers like Proton. Both The Binding of Isaac and Alien Isolation are known to run well on Linux, with some users reporting even better performance compared to Windows. Just keep in mind, results can vary depending on your specific hardware.
