Need Feedback on My Budget Gaming PC Build

I'm building my first PC and aiming for a budget of around $850, trying not to exceed $1000. I want this machine to efficiently run games like Roblox, Valorant, and Marvel Rivals with decent FPS. Here's the parts list I've come up with after some research:

- **Motherboard:** ASRock B450M AC/R2.0
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- **RAM:** Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200MHz
- **SSD:** Silicon Power A60 1TB NVMe
- **Cooler:** Thermalright Assassin Spirit 120 EVO (only if necessary)
- **PSU:** MSI MAG A650BN (650W, 80+ Bronze)
- **Case:** Montech Air 100 ARGB MATX
- **GPU:** AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (looking for a budget option)
- **Monitor:** PRISM+ W250 25" 144Hz IPS

I'm wondering if there are cheaper alternatives for any of these components without sacrificing performance or compatibility. Are there any upgrades that won't break the bank?

Mixing and matching random cheap parts often results in a low-performance machine. Your budget is above the average for a gaming PC, so it’s crucial not to skimp on the GPU, as that can cost you down the line. The CPUs and GPUs you've chosen are a bit outdated. You might want to look into a new Intel i5-14400F setup. It has a much better performance and includes newer components. Here's a build that totals around $944—definitely worth considering!

I appreciate the detailed breakdown! I've updated my build with newer components but would prefer to stick to my budget if possible. Any tips on effective upgrades?

Honestly, going with AM4 now isn’t the best move since upgrade options are limited and DDR4 prices are going up. If you want to stick within your budget, you could check out this alternative build that includes a 1440p 180Hz monitor for about $800. I'd recommend investing in a used RTX 3060 12GB to get more performance. Also, consider finding a second-hand case to save some money without compromising airflow.

Thanks for the suggestions! I saw the motherboard is ATX in your build. Is there a microATX option that would fit? What are the advantages of going for ATX over mATX?

Just to let you know about that PSU you mentioned, it only comes with one PCIe cable, which you don't often see, especially at 750W. It’s a decent deal for the price, though.
