I'm considering making the switch from Windows to Linux, but I'm not sure what Linux distribution to go with. I mainly use Windows 11 for gaming and various tasks, and I'm curious if Linux can handle online games like Showrunner, GTA V, Fortnite, and others. Any advice on whether it's a good move?

If you’re willing to learn, I say give Linux a shot! Just know that some things might require extra effort to set up, especially in gaming. Make sure to check compatibility sites for games to see what works and what doesn’t before you switch.

Online gaming and Linux can be tricky due to certain anti-cheat measures not supporting Linux. Some games won’t run at all. I'd say stick with Windows if you're heavily into gaming unless you want to get creative with setups.

I recently switched to Pop!_OS, and I've been able to play most online games without issues. Just be cautious about anti-cheat systems because they're not always compatible with Linux. Honestly, I’d recommend dual-booting with two hard drives—Linux has no bloatware, prioritizes privacy, and overall feels more streamlined than Windows.

Honestly, Linux is great for development and various tasks, but for gaming, it might not be the best choice if you rely on modern titles. While Linux powers tons of servers and devices, you might find it frustrating for games like GTA V due to compatibility issues. Just something to think about.

Linux can be fantastic! I switched to Linux Mint six years ago, and I’ve loved every moment since. The installation took just about ten minutes, and my five laptops now run super smoothly on Mint without all the headaches that came with Windows. Definitely worth a try!
