Hey everyone! I'm new to the PC gaming scene and I'm looking to make some upgrades. I'm currently based in the UK and haven't done much gaming on my PC yet. I recently had the power supply changed, along with the CPU and RAM. Here's what I've got:
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
- 16GB of 3200 RAM
- GTX 1060 3GB (I know I need a better GPU, but I'm torn between AMD and Nvidia. Looking for a good value option, ideally under £450)
- 2TB of storage
- PRIME A320M-K motherboard
I have my keyboard and mouse sorted, plus a current 1440p Dell monitor that runs at 60Hz, but I'm considering connecting it to my 4K OLED TV for 120Hz gameplay. I'm also thinking about whether to trade in my PS5 for a new monitor since it's been gathering dust lately.
I'm aiming to play modern titles like Silent Hill and Resident Evil without going overboard on spending. Also, I wouldn't mind a new case, but I'm a bit anxious about wiring everything up correctly and not damaging any components.
Thanks a lot for any tips or advice!

I’d suggest upgrading to a Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB. They offer great performance for today's games. Also, if you haven't already, consider getting an SSD for your system; it makes a massive difference in load times!
I have a 1TB SSD combined with a 1TB hard drive for my files, and it works well! About changing cases, it can be a bit tricky if you’ve never done it. Just take your time with wiring.
When looking at that RX 6800 XT, do the brand variations matter? Are they all similar or should I go for a specific brand? Thanks!
There can be differences in cooling and warranty between brands, but generally, the performance is similar. Just make sure to check reviews for thermal performance.
Look into user reviews for specific models. Some brands are better known for their cooling solutions and quiet operation.

Yeah, definitely look into getting an SSD first! And if you're considering RAM, going for 32GB could really help with performance, especially for multitasking.
