I'm getting ready to build my first PC and would love to hear your thoughts on my proposed setup. I'm planning to buy a used AMD Radeon RX 6600 from eBay instead of paying full price. Here are the specs I've chosen:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler
- GPU: ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6600 8 GB Video Card
- Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart 600 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
- Motherboard: Gigabyte A520M K V2 Micro ATX AM4
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
- Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive
- Case: Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case
Any feedback or suggestions would be fantastic!

You might want to consider upgrading to an 800W power supply for future-proofing. And since the motherboard doesn't support DDR5, sticking with DDR4 is a good call, but make sure the RAM is compatible!
I'd suggest switching to an SSD for your operating system and apps, and use the HDD for games. This will significantly speed things up! Also, the Ryzen 7 5800XT might be a bit too powerful for the RX 6600. Maybe consider a Ryzen 5 5600 instead? It's a better match for that GPU.
I'm pretty new to this, so what's the main difference between an SSD and an HDD? I chose the 5800 because it was on sale, but if it's too much, I'm open to suggestions.
I actually think the 5800 is fine if you plan on doing anything other than gaming. Just make sure to optimize your games to utilize it!
I planned on getting a stronger PSU. Thanks for the tip!
