I'm putting together my first PC build and I want to know if my parts list is solid. I scored a deal on the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X for $269 as part of a Micro Center bundle which includes the motherboard and a single RAM stick. I plan on upgrading the RAM later, but I want to ensure the rest of the components work well together. Here's my build:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor - $269.00
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 - $17.89
- Motherboard: Asus PRIME B650M-A AX II - $0.00 (from the bundle)
- Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 16 GB (1 x 16 GB) DDR5 - (upgrading later)
- Storage: Crucial P3 Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD - $61.95
- Video Card: ONIX ODYSSEY Arc B580 12 GB - $259.99
- Case: Cooler Master Elite 301 - $40.86
- Power Supply: MSI MAG A650BN 650 W - $63.99
- OS: Windows 11 Home - $109.99
- Case Fan: ARCTIC P12 120 mm Fan - $12.99
Total: $836.66. I'd love your feedback on the value and performance of this setup!

Your build looks pretty good overall! I recommend that if you have a Windows license available from another computer, you can transfer it to save costs. That way, you could invest that extra cash into getting a 9060XT 16GB, which offers better performance. Just a heads-up, the motherboard is decent for the price, but when upgrading your RAM later, it's ideal to find the same stick, which could be tricky.
Best of luck with your build!
Thanks for the tip! There’s a stick at Micro Center for about $50, so I might be okay there!
