I recently set up seven Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 6 PCs at an office, all equipped with Windows 11 Pro. The OS was installed once and cloned to the others using CloneZilla (with Sysprep). Initially, everything was running smoothly, but three of the PCs have suddenly become very slow to the point of being unusable. I've run chkdsk, which resolves the sluggishness, but the Event Viewer shows numerous Disk Error 51 logs. There haven't been any new updates or software installations since the initial setup. What might be causing this, and what additional checks should I perform? It feels like it could be a hardware issue, but I suspect it might also be software-related. I appreciate any guidance!

I’d say it’s definitely a bad drive situation, no doubt about it. But I do find it odd they all started having issues within days of each other. Could it be a coincidence or is there a software glitch causing this? Seems like something to dig into.
Windows 11 can be quite finicky and may cause performance issues sometimes. Have you considered trying Windows 10 or even a Linux distro on those machines? If both are slow too, then it's likely a hardware problem. Just a thought!
It sounds like you might have a bad batch of SSDs in those three PCs. I recommend checking the SMART logs on those drives to see if there are any warning signs. There's also a chance that CloneZilla messed up the drive alignment, but that's usually not fixed just by running chkdsk. Glad you've been able to temporarily remedy the issue with chkdsk, though!
