I'm putting together my first gaming PC, mainly for playing games at high frame rates on 1080p, and I might upgrade to 1440p later on. I'm looking for suggestions or improvements to cut down the overall cost without sacrificing too much performance. Here's my current build and prices in NZD:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - $809
- CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE - $79
- Motherboard: MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI - $309.35
- Memory: TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB 32 GB DDR5-6000 - $839
- Storage: Kingston NV3 1 TB NVME SSD - $309.35
- Video Card: Asus DUAL Radeon RX 9060 XT - $843.34
- Case: Phanteks XT PRO - $84.95
- Power Supply: Corsair RM750e - $174.80
- Case Fans: Noctua A14 PWM - $46 each (x3)
Total: $3586.79.
Any thoughts?

That RAM price is outrageous! You can save a ton by choosing a more affordable 32GB 6000 CL30 kit without any loss in performance. Also, for 1080p and 1440p gaming, the 7800X3D is solid, but you could go for a 7600 or 7700 and save some cash with very little drop in performance. Plus, consider swapping the Noctua fans for some cheaper airflow models; you won’t even notice the difference!
What’s the real difference between the 7600X and 7600? I’m okay with spending more if it’s worth it.
Consider getting a case that comes with pre-installed fans to cut costs, or you can get some budget-friendly options like Arctic or Thermalright fans. Also, I’d recommend going with 2TB of storage if you can swing it to avoid upgrading too soon!
Any specific case recommendations for budget builds?

The RAM prices can be crazy in NZD. Any suggestions for specific cheaper kits?
