Hey everyone! I'm eager to build my first gaming PC but I'm trying to stick to a budget. I enjoy playing demanding games like Helldivers, Dying Light, the Left 4 Dead series, Little Nightmares, and Payday 2. I've been checking out pre-built options with customization, but they seem pretty pricey. So, I've decided to take on the project myself. I'm doing research on what specs are best for those games and I've already made some notes about what's needed for a decent experience with Helldivers. I'm not looking for a full spec list or guide, but rather some suggestions on reliable websites for building a PC and personal experiences with different components and brands. I want to avoid scams and getting stuck with a dud PC after spending my hard-earned cash. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Oh, and yes, I tend to hoard games during sales!

First, decide your budget and the resolution/frame rates you want to hit. Then choose between an AM4 or AM5 system depending on your preference, and whether you want an Nvidia or AMD graphics card. PCPartPicker is perfect for designing your build sometime!
You should definitely check out this guide for first-time builders; it covers a lot of the basics on PC specs. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/s1fxZ-VWs2U?si=ocg-3VIN12egRrgf
Watching it right now, thank you!

Thank you very much!
I've set my budget to up to a thousand since that seems doable. I'm still figuring out the resolution and fps. I’m leaning towards an AM5 system and considering AMD for the graphics card since it's more affordable and fits my playstyle.
