Tips for First-Time PC Building: OS Transfer and Component Choices

I'm diving into building my first PC, although I've replaced components before. I've gathered some parts and want to ensure compatibility before moving forward. Here's what I already have: 16 GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 memory, a Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2 TB NVMe SSD, and an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti video card. I'm looking to buy an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, a Noctua NH-D15S cooler, an MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK motherboard, a Montech XR case, and a Corsair RM750x power supply. I'm a complete beginner and would love any advice on whether I'm making good choices or if there's anything I should steer clear of. Also, I heard it's best to install the OS on an SSD. Can I transfer my SSD from my old setup to this new build and install the OS without wiping it first? Thanks for any help!

Not sure why you're going for the Ryzen 7 3700X; it seems a bit outdated for a new build. Have you thought about going with a more current AM5 bundle? It could save you from having to upgrade too soon since future AMD CPUs will likely be compatible with that platform. Just a thought!

That makes sense! I didn’t realize the AM5 would have more future-proof options. What’s the best AMD chip you’d recommend right now?
