I'm planning to purchase a PC from a friend for $400. It currently has a GeForce RTX 2070, an Intel i5 8600 processor, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. What are some budget-friendly upgrades I can consider for this setup?

If you're looking to go for a more significant upgrade later, consider waiting. A full platform change to AM5 would require a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM, but that could give you more power down the line. Deals on bundles sometimes pop up, especially at stores like Microcenter.

Don’t overlook storage! A 2TB NVMe drive would be a huge upgrade for speed. You might also want to look at getting a better power supply if you're planning major upgrades in the future.

Honestly, the GPU is the first thing I'd consider upgrading, but right now the market is so crazy with price hikes that it might not be the best time to make that move.

The RAM is great as is, but if you're thinking about upgrades, swapping the CPU could be worth it. You'd need a new motherboard, but you can probably get a decent combo under $200. For Intel, the 12400F is a solid choice, or check out the AMD 5600 for something similar.
