Hi everyone! I'm in the process of fixing up my sister's old Kindle, which is a 10th generation model from 2019 (model no J9G29R). She previously mentioned battery problems and frequent restarting, but I found that it was working okay for a week after picking it up. It eventually started freezing more often and would show a low battery warning even when it was fully charged. I decided to replace the battery since I can't afford a new e-reader at the moment. After the replacement, the battery seems to charge normally and no longer freezes, but the touch screen isn't working at all. It was fine before the battery swap, and now I'm stuck on the language selection screen. I've tried a complete charge and even did a factory reset using my computer, but nothing changes. Did I screw something up during the replacement? Is there a way to fix this?

It sounds like something might have come loose during the battery replacement process. I'd recommend taking it apart again and checking all the connections carefully. There are some great disassembly videos online that can guide you through it. Just make sure everything is securely connected!

Totally! Even if it looks fine, it's worth reseating the connections. Sometimes they don't connect as snugly as they should.
