I'm working on my girlfriend's ASUS ZenBook UX325EA, which crashed unexpectedly during a Teams call. I've already gone through several troubleshooting steps: I performed a fresh installation of Windows 11, tried a clean install of Linux Mint, updated the BIOS, and even replaced the SSD. While Linux Mint can boot from a USB drive without any issues, it fails to boot from the SSD after installation—there's just a quick red flash and then nothing. The BIOS and both operating systems recognize the SSD and can write to it. Has anyone else faced this problem? What should I check or where else could the issue be coming from? Thanks!

First things first, make sure your SSD is set to AHCI mode in the BIOS instead of Legacy mode. Windows 11 really doesn’t like Legacy settings—it could lead to boot failures and weird issues.

I checked, and since it's NVMe, the BIOS doesn't show SATA options, just PCIe for the controller. Is that a problem?
