Hey everyone! I've recently got a Ryzen 9 3950X and a motherboard from my brother-in-law. The system boots up fine, but here's the kicker: it won't detect any drives, no matter what I do. I've tested multiple SSDs and hard drives (both M.2 and SATA), and I've even switched out the motherboard three times, but still no luck. I'd love some help figuring this out because I want to use this CPU as an upgrade from my current Ryzen 3600!

What exactly are you seeing when you check for drive detection? Are you getting any BIOS errors, or do the drives just not show up at all? Knowing this could help narrow down the problem.
Since your Ryzen 3600 works fine on all three motherboards but the 3950X doesn't detect any drives, it sounds like the 3950X might be the culprit here. Have you checked if it's seating properly in the socket? Also, can you confirm the power supply you're using? Sometimes power issues can cause detection failures. You might want to try a different power supply to rule that out as well.
It seems like an odd issue since the 3950X and the new motherboard are causing problems. Have you thought about trying the 3950X in the motherboard that's currently housing your 3600? That could help isolate the issue.
