Hi everyone! I'm new to the world of Linux and recently went through the process of installing antiX on my old MacBook Air. The installation was surprisingly easy since it replaced the original drive completely. However, I've come to realize that antiX isn't really the right fit for me, so I decided to switch to Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop.
I created a bootable USB with the Mint ISO, but when I run it in the live environment, it can't detect the hard drive on my laptop. It only recognizes the USB drive, which means I can't proceed with the installation. I'm really frustrated by this issue and hope someone can help me out!

Have you tried switching the distribution on the USB? Sometimes the issue could be with how it's set up. I recommend using sistemrescue, since it has diagnostic tools that might help. Alternatively, any distro with GParted should do the trick!

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll give sistemrescue a shot and see if MATE works better too. If I decide to wipe my HDD clean and do a fresh install of Mint, what options would I have for that?
