I'm facing a significant issue with my new mini PC, a GMKtec M6 with a Ryzen 5 7640HS CPU that doesn't have a dedicated GPU. After updating the AMD driver through their software, my PC got stuck during the installation process. Initially, I was dealing with cuts to black on my TV and trouble waking the PC from sleep. I eventually attempted an update but left the PC alone while it installed, and it went to sleep. After an hour, I did a hard reboot, which led to my PC failing to launch Windows normally afterward.
Now, I can only boot in safe mode. I tried some recovery commands and worked with a basic version of the AMD software, but it got stuck on installing the new driver at 64% for hours. I'm considering doing a hard reboot again and trying to reset Windows, but I'm not sure if that's the best option. What should I do?

Totally agree, don’t go for the reset option! Uninstalling the AMD drivers in safe mode is the way to go. Booting up normally should work with Windows basic drivers. If you decide to reinstall, make sure you've got a bootable USB ready. Just be cautious not to hard reboot while the driver installation is stuck, as that could cause even more issues.
I really wouldn't recommend doing a full Windows reset. That feature can often be more trouble than it's worth, leading to new problems. Instead, boot into safe mode and completely uninstall the AMD drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). Once that's done, you should be able to boot normally since Windows has basic drivers to get you by without the AMD ones. If you still want to do a reinstall, use a USB with the Windows Media Creation Tool for a fresh installation instead of relying on the broken reset feature.
