I'm transitioning my Domain Controller (DC) from VMware to Hyper-V while my VMware license is expiring. I used Veeam Instant Recovery to migrate the DC VM to the Hyper-V server. The DC is running and can ping the network, but I'm facing a major issue: I can't authenticate users because it seems like nothing is reaching the DC. I keep getting messages about the computer account for the workstation trust relationship. Is this a known issue with Hyper-V, or could I be making a critical error in the migration process?

It sounds like the issue stems from the restoration process rather than Hyper-V itself. Restoring a DC from backup should be your last option. Bring up a new DC on Hyper-V, transfer the roles, and then safely retire your old DC. That avoids complications.
It's generally not advisable to migrate a DC directly. The best practice is to set up a new DC, transfer the roles over, and then decommission the old one. This might save you a lot of headaches down the road.

Absolutely! Restoring while a DC is online can lead to issues, especially if any changes were made after backup. When I moved my DCs with Veeam, I made sure they were offline during the backup to prevent this.
