I've recently purchased a second-hand Apple Watch Series 6 (40mm) and I'm trying to connect it to my iPhone 16 Pro Max. After getting past the activation lock, I'm now stuck on the software update screen. It's saying it can't check for updates because I'm not connected to the internet, but my phone is connected just fine. I can't do anything with the watch until I update it, but it won't let me. I've tried factory resetting the watch multiple times, restarting my phone, and even using mobile data, but no luck. I also have a MacBook—can I connect the watch to that to force the update? It's feeling like a waste of time at this point!

I've had a similar issue before. Here’s what worked for me: try restoring the watch first. After that, connect it to another device, then reset both the watch and the device you want it to pair with, and forget any previous connections. It sounds complicated, but this method helped me get past the software update glitch. Good luck!
When you say restore the watch, do you mean factory reset it? Because that's about all I can do right now. And should I try connecting it to another iPhone to see if that works?
