Hey everyone! I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a while. I built my PC about a year ago, and it's been great until recently. Lately, I've been having trouble with the RGB lighting on my CPU cooler. I have an Arctic Liquid Freezer III with three fans, along with five Phanteks D30 chassis fans, making it a total of eight fans. The Phanteks fans sync perfectly, but the RGB on my CPU cooler just doesn't match up! I can change the color a bit, but it never syncs with the rest. Here's an image showing the mismatch: Imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/TYAX6i4.
So far, I've checked all the cables, verified the daisy-chain connections (all fans are daisy-chained except the CPU cooler, which is connected to the motherboard via CPU_FAN), and tried using both Aurora and SignalRGB software, but nothing seems to work. It synced well for about a year before this issue started. Here are my specs:
- Phanteks D30 fans
- Arctic Liquid Freezer III RGB
- ASUS TUF B650 Plus
- ASUS 4080 Super ProArt
- AMD 7800X3D
Any advice on how I can get the CPU cooler lighting back in sync with the rest of my system would be super helpful. Thanks a ton!

Mixing fan brands can often lead to color discrepancies in RGB lighting, especially with different lighting designs. Fans that light from the center may appear brighter compared to those that shine toward the center, causing mismatches. If you want a perfect match, you might consider swapping out your CPU cooler fans for those that are the same brand as your chassis fans.
Have you checked with SignalRGB if your cooler is being detected? Sometimes it needs to be manually added in the software. Even then, it can be tricky since only the radiator fans might be responding, leaving the CPU fan out in the cold!
Yeah, I had to add it manually, and while the radiator fans change color, the CPU fan doesn't respond at all.
That’s a fair point, but it’s still strange since it was syncing fine for an entire year. It’s likely something else is going on too.
