I recently encountered a major issue while trying to install the Windows 11 security update KB5077181. After initiating the update, I received an error message: "Something didn't go as planned. No need to worry - undoing changes. Please keep your computer on." I was concerned that this might be linked to Secure Boot, especially with Microsoft's recent emphasis on BIOS updates. So, I decided to go into BIOS, where I cleared the secure boot keys and restored factory defaults before saving and exiting. Unfortunately, this led to a new error when trying to boot into Windows: "Secure Boot Violation. Invalid signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup." I found myself unable to modify secure boot settings thereafter and had to enable CSM just to disable Secure Boot, save changes, and then disable both Secure Boot and CSM again to finally boot into Windows 11.
Upon checking the secure boot keys, I noticed that both the Authorized TimeStamps (dbt) and OsRecovery Signatures (dbr) had no keys. I'm unsure if these keys are supposed to be present. I have attempted various solutions, including:
1. Using the BIOS to install default secure boot keys, but it doesn't work.
2. Trying to update each secure boot key, but I receive "failed" messages.
3. Loading UEFI defaults didn't help either.
4. Updating to BIOS version 17.03 did nothing.
5. Even pressing the CLR_CMOS button after removing all power did not resolve the issue.
This is crucial since these updates are essential for my OS stability, and I'm caught in a bind—needing secure boot for updates yet unable to boot into Windows when it's enabled. Will NZXT release a BIOS update to restore the missing keys? Will Microsoft address these ongoing problems?

I've had similar issues after BIOS updates. It sounds like you've done a lot already, but have you tried resetting the BIOS to its defaults again? Sometimes that helps clear any residual errors. Also, make sure your Windows installation is up to date once you can boot properly; Microsoft sometimes fixes these hiccups with subsequent patches. As for the missing keys, I wouldn't hold my breath for a quick fix from NZXT, but keeping your firmware updated is crucial!
I get your frustration. It's a real pain when updates cause more issues than they fix. It seems like you're doing everything right by checking the BIOS settings and secure boot keys. Unfortunately, Microsoft has pushed some problematic updates lately. Sometimes they end up breaking more than they fix, especially in relation to how Secure Boot interacts with various systems. It might be worth keeping an eye on forums or even contacting NZXT support directly for any news on BIOS updates addressing this. You're definitely not alone in experiencing these issues.
Totally agree! Why roll out updates that break features? It's a gamble every time they release something new.

Good point! I forgot to mention that. Resetting the BIOS can sometimes sort things out. Let's hope there's an update soon!
