Trouble with DisplayPort on RTX 3080 Ti – Any Fixes?

I'm dealing with a frustrating issue involving my ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E motherboard and Zotac RTX 3080 Ti graphics card linked to an AORUS FO27Q3 OLED monitor. Whenever I connect it via DisplayPort, I encounter a POST code 99 and there's no display. However, if I boot with HDMI, everything works flawlessly. Once I'm in Windows, I can swap to DisplayPort without any problems.

I've already updated my motherboard BIOS and NVIDIA drivers to the latest versions. It seems like the trouble only occurs during the POST phase. Has anyone else experienced something similar or knows of a possible solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried running the NVIDIA UEFI Firmware Updater? I had a similar issue with an older GPU where an update fixed the problem. It might do the trick for you too!

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't tried that yet but I'll definitely give it a go.

Just an update: I managed to solve the problem! It turned out the issue was with my GPU’s UEFI firmware. Running the NVIDIA UEFI Firmware Updater fixed everything for me. Now, the BIOS shows up correctly through DisplayPort without any errors. I hope this helps someone else with a similar setup!

Sounds like a classic I/O issue related to POST code 99. You might want to try disconnecting all your peripherals and rebooting. I found plenty of links that suggest this, so it could help. Let us know what happens!

I tried that already and unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the issue.
