I've been feeling really frustrated lately with my gaming setup. I invested a lot in a high-end PC with a 4080 and top components, but I can only comfortably play Minecraft and FIFA. Unfortunately, I keep experiencing terrible internet lag while trying to game, which leads to rubberbanding and frequent connection drops, especially when I'm playing with friends. Despite investigating all the usual issues, I still haven't found a solution. I'm wondering if anyone has any unique suggestions or fixes that I might not have thought of yet.

You might want to try installing a PCIe Ethernet card, just in case there's something wrong with your onboard network adapter. That has worked for a few friends of mine.
It sounds like the issue might not be with your PC but rather your internet connection. Have you done a speed test? Sometimes that's a good starting point to see if your speeds match what you're paying for.
Are you using a Wi-Fi connection or a wired one? I had similar issues that were caused by a faulty network cable, which might be worth checking out.
If all else fails, consider switching your internet provider. If they can't deliver consistent service, it might be worth exploring other options.
Updating your Wi-Fi drivers or even your motherboard's BIOS could also help a lot. If you pull up your PC info, it's usually listed right in the device manager.

Thanks for the tip! I'll look into that, even though I'm not quite sure how to install it.
