Troubleshooting ‘Unexpected Store Exception’ Bluescreen on HP Pavilion

I've been dealing with an annoying issue on my HP Pavilion where it crashes and shows a bluescreen with the message "unexpected store exception," then it restarts. Sometimes it doesn't even recognize the hard drive when it tries to reboot, but other times it boots up just fine. I reinstalled Windows, which helped for a bit, but now I'm worried that I might have a virus since I still can't seem to get a minidump file from the crashes. The bluescreen only flashes for a moment, and I had to take a picture of it to read the stop code. I'm really hoping this is a software issue, but I could use some guidance.

To get better insights into what’s causing those BSODs, you’ll need those dump files. If you can access Windows, check in C:WindowsMinidump for any crash logs. Zip the folder if you find something and upload it using a file-sharing site. If you don't see any dump files, you might want to change the setting for minidumps to small memory dumps. This can usually help get more useful info to troubleshoot further.

It sounds like you might have a hardware issue. If your hard disk drive (HDD) is failing, it could lead to those bluescreens. I’d suggest trying to secure any important files if you can and consider replacing it with a solid-state drive (SSD). Also, you can stop Windows from automatically rebooting after the bluescreen, which might give you a better chance to see the error.

Have you checked if hidden files are turned on? Sometimes the dump files aren’t visible if that setting is off. If they are on and you still don’t see anything, it could be a sign that your HDD isn’t working properly. You might want to explore a new drive if the issues persist.
