I've been having issues with my ASUS Tuff F15 laptop running Windows 11. Recently, the Windows key and search bar stopped working, my taskbar went haywire, and files started crashing when I opened certain folders. It became really slow, so I decided to reinstall Windows. I created a bootable USB drive on my Mac and, when I booted it on my PC, I was stuck on a screen that says "install driver to show hardware". There were no welcome screens or terms like I've seen in tutorials. I followed advice from the ASUS website and downloaded an IRST driver onto another hard disk, but even when I point to the folder, it shows nothing. I can't even boot back into my laggy Windows because that option seems to have vanished from my BIOS. I'm really stressed since exams are coming up and I need to fix this quickly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you extracted the IRST driver properly? You should look for the .INF files. If not, try extracting it again. But be aware, it seems like your hard drive could be failing, which might create problems for any fresh install. Keep an eye on that because it might mean your laptop needs more serious repairs.
It sounds like your boot HDD might be failing. If that's the case, a reinstall won't do much because the drive can't read properly. You might need to consider replacing the hard drive, unfortunately. In the meantime, if you just need something to work on for now—like web browsing or writing up exam notes—try booting a live Linux distro from your USB. It's a temporary fix but should keep you functional while you figure things out.
You might want to change your BIOS settings to AHCI mode instead of using RST drivers. They’re not always necessary unless you’re running RAID, which isn't common for most users today. Switching to AHCI might help you bypass the driver issue entirely.
