I've finally decided to upgrade my PC after almost 15 years! I went all out for this build with an AMD 9800x3D, 9070xt, and the ASrock Steel Legend B850m motherboard. However, I've been seeing some concerning videos about potential compatibility issues that could damage the processor. I'm really anxious about this because returning PC parts can be such a hassle. Should I be worried? What should I do?

If you're located somewhere where returns can be a pain, it might be different for you. Generally, though, if it’s unopened, returning should be fairly simple. And since ASRock has released BIOS updates to help with the problem, you're probably safer. But, I’d still think about returning if you can.
If those parts are still on the way, just return the board now. Why risk it when you have the option to avoid any future headaches?
If you're worried, I’d recommend returning the motherboard if you haven't got it yet. It's better to play it safe and choose another B850 board that avoids this whole issue.
ASRock claims they fixed the issues, but I’m not fully convinced. I’d personally return it for a different board just to be safe.
There's a decent chance that everything will work fine, but many would avoid ASRock due to the risks. If you're still in the return window, it's a good idea to exchange the motherboard. Trust me, returning unopened hardware is usually a lot easier than dealing with warranty issues later!
