I recently had a situation where a PC on our network automatically upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 23H2 without any prior planning on my part. The upgrade changed the PC's name, and it only updated to version 23H2 instead of 24H2. Additionally, Office 365 was uninstalled during the process. While the PC remains domain-joined and the user data is still intact, I'm unsure how this happened since we use Big Fix for policy updates but don't push system or driver updates. I've never encountered this situation before. The machine is currently off the network and I'm planning to reimage it. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced something similar in their domain and if there's anything specific I should look into.

Have you checked the event logs? They can provide some insight into what triggered the upgrade and if there were any unusual activities before it happened.
We utilize GPOs to lock the product and specify target versions to avoid these surprises. Maybe you should look into implementing similar policies to manage upgrades better.
Did you actually see the upgrade happen, or did a user inform you about it? If you haven't witnessed it firsthand, I'd take the user's word with a grain of salt. They might not fully understand what happened.
Exactly! Not that users are lying on purpose, but they might not have all the details. It's often a case of missing context.
