Upgraded My CPU, But Performance Got Worse – Need Help!

I recently upgraded my CPU from a Ryzen 3 3200G to a Ryzen 5 3600, hoping for a significant boost in performance. My specs include a SAPPHIRE RX580 graphics card, an MSI A320M-A Pro motherboard, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Initially, I thought the upgrade would be straightforward, but I've encountered several frustrating issues since then.

Before I upgraded, I updated the BIOS to the latest version, which fixed a display issue I had when using my GPU. After the upgrade, I was excited to start using the new CPU. However, I quickly noticed there was no audio. I tried reinstalling the Realtek drivers several times without success. Now, only the microphone jack works, rendering my audio setup useless.

Performance-wise, things have taken a turn for the worse. I expected smoother gameplay, particularly in games like Valorant, but my frame rates have dropped significantly. I'm also unable to enable secure boot without causing boot issues, which further complicates things. I'm at a loss and feeling really frustrated after putting in the effort to upgrade. Can anyone help me figure out what went wrong and how I can solve these issues?

Hey there! It sounds like you're having quite the ordeal with your CPU upgrade. First off, make sure you're using the dedicated GPU and not the integrated one, especially since the Ryzen 5 3600 doesn't come with integrated graphics. Also, since you mentioned the CPU is used, it's worth checking its condition. Sometimes, a fresh Windows installation can really help after changing major components like the CPU. It might give your system a clean slate and clear up those performance hitches. Good luck!

Did you make sure to update all the drivers for your new CPU and any other components you changed? Sometimes Windows Update can miss important updates, so it's worth checking the manufacturer's site too. That might help with the audio issues you're facing. If all else fails, reinstalling Windows could be a good route to consider; it often resolves lingering driver conflicts.
