I'm considering upgrading my PC, which has served me well for about six years. Currently, my setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, an Nvidia 8GB GeForce GTX 1070, and 32GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MT/s. I know it's showing its age, especially with newer games, and I'm looking for some guidance on what parts to upgrade. I live near a Microcenter, which might help with pricing and availability. I've put together a potential build including an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, an MSI B850 Motherboard, and a Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT, totaling around $1809.36, but I want to make sure I'm making smart choices. What do you think?

For RAM, you might want to check out Crucial's offerings for 32GB DDR5. There's also some concerns I've heard about the 9900X, particularly with games utilizing only one CCD, which could hurt performance unless you're disabling the unused one.
Definitely check MicroCenter's website! They often have bundles that can save you a lot, especially if you're looking at RAM, CPU, or motherboard combos. Plus, it saves you from the hassle of shipping issues!
Overall, that's a solid build but you might want to consider upgrading your power supply to an 850W unit for more headroom. It’ll ensure stability and future-proofing for potential future upgrades.
Thanks for the suggestion!
What about switching to a 5070 Ti? I decided to stick with my AM4 setup and I’ve been really happy with my 5800X3D and 5080 combo. It gives great performance without breaking the bank, especially for 4K gaming!
Yeah, the 5070 Ti is looking good, but it might be another $300 more than what I've planned with the RX 9070 XT. I see B&H has an Asus version for $899, which is a consideration.
What's your total budget? Also, which Microcenter are you closest to? They might have some good combo deals that could save you cash!

I appreciate the heads-up! I'll definitely look into those CPU options and their benchmarks before deciding.
