Water Droplets on My Motherboard: Can My PC Be Saved?

So, my PC won't turn on after I noticed some water droplets on the motherboard too late. At first, the fans were spinning, but then I realized the display wasn't showing anything. I reseated the RAM, but that didn't help. In a panic, I tried unplugging everything, but it was too late, and it just died right there. I'm curious if letting it dry for about 48 hours might help salvage some parts, or if this water exposure has caused a short circuit that means my PC is completely toast. I've had this setup for about 6-7 years, so the warranty is long gone.

When I was moving my GPU and RAM, I felt a little shock, so I think it's still drawing power from the PSU. Not sure if that means the PSU's still good, but it’s something to consider.

Some of your components might be okay! It’s tough to say for sure without swapping parts out. Water on the motherboard usually means it's damaged, but there’s no telling if it affected other parts too. I think your CPU might still be fine, though.

Try using an old toothbrush along with 90% alcohol to gently clean any residue, then air dry it cool with a blow dryer. You might need to replace the motherboard, but that shouldn’t break the bank.
