We've got a bizarre network issue affecting everyone in our organization since yesterday. Initially, we thought it was a problem with the NPS server, but after updating our certificate, that didn't seem to be the case. Here's the situation: when I disconnect the dock from my laptop and reconnect it, I'm prompted to sign in to the network. However, if I disconnect and then reconnect the Ethernet without unplugging the dock, it doesn't ask me to sign in again. Strangely, if I plug the Ethernet directly into the laptop, it signs in automatically. Once I switch back to the dock, it works fine too, but if I unplug the dock while the Ethernet's connected and then replug it, it seems to lose the trust with the NPS certificate and prompts me to sign in again. I've tried updating the drivers for both the dock and laptop (both HP models), but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone encountered similar issues?

I found out the issue! It turned out Device Guard was enforced. We had to delete our old wired 802.1x GPO policy and recreate it, making sure to force the device to accept the NPS server's certificate.
Have you checked if the dock is configured for MAC address pass through? It's worth verifying the MAC address in all your connection scenarios.
