Hey everyone! I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to PC components, but I've been gradually upgrading my gaming rig since I built it back in 2019. Currently, my HDD is starting to fail, so I'm looking to replace it with a 1TB SSD. I don't have a strict budget but I'm hoping to keep costs reasonable! Here's my current setup: CPU: Intel i7-8700, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 3060, Motherboard: Prime H310M-D R 2.0, RAM: 32GB, HDD: Toshiba HDWD110, SSD: Husky 256GB. I'm also a bit confused about whether I can run more than one SSD or if I should just replace the existing HDD. Any advice would be great!

Make sure to pick an SSD with a DRAM cache, as it's beneficial especially if you're using it as your OS drive. It might be worth checking out the Kioxia Exceria G2 if it's available where you are.

Since your motherboard limits the potential of the SSDs, I'd suggest going for the cheapest NVMe option. The Teamgroup MP33 is solid and fits the bill for budget and performance.

Given that your motherboard only supports PCIe 3.0 and has a limited M.2 slot with just 2x PCIe lanes, you don't need to splurge too much. I'd recommend considering a Crucial P3 or a Teamgroup MP44; both are decent options and can be found for around $120 for a 2TB model. If you're looking to spend a bit less, then the Teamgroup MP33 or Kingspec XG7000 are good choices around $100.

Just a heads up, try to avoid SSDs with QLC flash like the Crucial P3 or Kingston NV2/NV3. For your usage, go for something that has DRAM cache! Also, make sure that your Husky SSD is either M.2 or SATA.
