What Are Other Companies Doing About the August Windows Update?

I'm curious about how others are handling the August Windows update, especially after hearing about issues related to SSDs. Both my boss and I have decided not to deploy it for now. Has anyone else rolled it out, and if so, what has your experience been?

I uninstalled the update from my two server instances and personal PC, just to be safe. However, it seems Microsoft hasn’t confirmed any issues—they're asking for feedback on SSD failure reports. It’s puzzling since there was a CVE related to storage patched this round, so there might be something there.

Got any links about these SSD issues? I’d like to follow up.

I deployed it on most of our machines without major issues. I did hear of one PC that failed the update and had to roll back, but that’s it. Honestly, it seems like the SSD concerns might be a bit exaggerated. My guess is they might have quietly fixed whatever the issue was.

Seems like it was a bit overblown initially, yeah. I remember the panic on Twitter, but I haven’t seen many confirmed cases of failures, just some hearsay.

Not so sure about overblown, though. We’re facing serious trouble with devices via Intune since the August update. 80% fail when trying to reset. Microsoft’s updates have been rocky lately!

I went ahead and deployed it this week, and everything's running smoothly. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Surprisingly, this patch fixed an issue for me! Guess there’s always that silver lining with Microsoft updates.

I’m holding off installing the update until next month. Just playing it safe for now.

We auto-deployed it to a test group first. If all goes well, we’ll roll it out organization-wide in a week. That’s our typical protocol; delaying updates isn’t usually required unless there’s a real problem.
