What are some budget-friendly 2-4TB SSD recommendations for gaming?

I'm looking for suggestions on a budget internal SSD with a capacity of 2 to 4TB that will work with my ASRock B550 PG Velocita motherboard. Ideally, I want an M.2 type, although I'm not entirely sure which specific kind to choose. My old HDD is failing, and I need a reliable replacement before it dies completely. I'm mostly a gamer, so I have large file sizes, but I'm not looking for top-tier performance; I just need something that is dependable. My specs include a Ryzen 5 5600, a Radeon RX 580, and 16GB of RAM. If you could also point me to a site that compares prices for SSDs, that would be awesome!

Check out websites like PCPartPicker for price comparisons. It’s a solid site for finding the best deals on components. For a 4TB model, you can easily find options on Newegg or Amazon. SSDs tend to have similar reliability, so focus on getting one that fits your budget and capacity needs. Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendation! Do you have any specific SSDs in mind that fit well with my motherboard? I’m pretty clueless about what M.2 type to get.

Here’s a link to the right section on PCPartPicker: [Find SSDs here](https://pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#sort=-ppgb&X=0,53054&f=122080&m=8,11,12,23,32,34,111,38&page=1). While you’re browsing, just make sure to check the specifications; your motherboard supports a Hyper M.2 slot, which is PCIe Gen4x4. For budget-friendly picks, focusing on PCIe Gen3 isn’t a bad idea either. Just ensure it’s compatible with the B550.

Thanks! I’ll check it out. But I still don't fully understand the difference between SATA and M.2 types. Can you clarify that a bit more?

I think your best bet is to buy a 4TB SSD directly from a reliable electronics store. Prices are pretty standardized across brands, so you shouldn't worry too much about reliability; just choose one within your budget. M.2 NVMe is generally faster and better for gaming than SATA, so lean towards that if your board supports it.

I see... but I still need some clarity on which M.2 type fits my board. Can you help define the difference, especially since I saw different types like PCIe Gen4 and Gen3?
