I'm looking for recommendations on a good cooler for my Ryzen 7 8700G and Asus B840M board. I've heard about the Peerless Assassin 120 SE, which costs around $48 here, but I'm not entirely convinced it's the best choice. Any suggestions?

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin is a solid choice. It's a tower cooler, and those tend to be really effective. I've had good experiences with it, keeping my CPU nice and cool!
Definitely check out the Phantom Spirit 120 SE too. It's good and often comes at a reasonable price in many regions!
I agree, I have one for my 9600X, and I was amazed at how much cooler it ran compared to the stock cooler on my old Ryzen 3600!
