What are some good alternatives to MS Publisher for Ubuntu?

I'm struggling to find a decent alternative to MS Publisher on Ubuntu. I've tried several programs like LibreOffice, Scribus, Laidout, and Drawing, but they're all clunky and frustrating to use. Some don't even come with help files or proper instructions. I attempted to install Pagestream but failed. Why isn't there a program similar to Publisher? Manipulating text and text boxes in LibreOffice is a nightmare! Can anyone recommend a better option?

I've heard that Affinity programs can run under Wine, so that could be worth a shot if you're looking for something closer to Publisher.

Not every software works the same for everyone. If you're used to MS Publisher, it's understandable that other programs might feel awkward. Sometimes sticking to what works for you is the best choice, even if it’s not the trendiest option.

At the moment nothing is working for me, though.

You might want to check out OnlyOffice. Just one note: it’s different from the older OpenOffice. It might suit your needs better than what you've tried so far!

Wait, is OnlyOffice online? I don't want that!

Yes, OnlyOffice operates online, but it can be really collaborative if that's something you need.
