I've recently switched to Linux Mint Cinnamon edition after ditching Windows 10, and I'm looking to dive into gaming again. It's been a while since I've played on my desktop, with my last favorites being Warcraft III and Starcraft. I'm also a console gamer, with Borderlands, Shadow of Mordor, and Witcher 3 being some of my all-time favorites. My setup has an NVIDIA GT 216 graphics card and an Intel Core i5-2500 CPU. Given this, what games do you recommend I try?

I’d recommend trying out Hades. It’s an awesome game that runs smoothly on Linux. A controller is recommended, but it's playable with just a keyboard too! If you want to explore first-person action, consider Dishonored, though check your hardware compatibility first.

Lastly, visit the software store to install Steam, log in, and find a game that fits your setup. Enjoy your new gaming adventure!

Keep in mind, older hardware limits your choices. Start with games that have native Linux versions, like The Witcher 2 or Left 4 Dead 2. Just enable Proton in Steam and you'll have access to a larger library.

You might enjoy Flare: Empyrean Campaign; it’s a free, 2D RPG available in your software manager. It’s a chill game with a fun adventure vibe.

That sounds interesting! I’ll check that out.

For some unique gameplay, check out Grey Hack. It’s a hacking simulator and I’ve managed to run it on an older laptop without issues, so it should perform well on your system too.

I recommend trying out Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2 or Divinity: Original Sin 2. Both games are fantastic and should run well on your setup if you keep the graphics settings low.

Just a heads up, your hardware is getting pretty old, so modern games might struggle. However, older titles should be fine! You could revisit classic games like Starcraft or the original Warcraft III if you still have the CDs.

First off, definitely download Steam! You can play some of your favorite games there. If you're interested in other platforms like the Epic Games Store, try using the Heroic Launcher to access those titles.

I just got Steam and now I'm overwhelmed by all the options!
