I'm currently using an R7 5800X (the non-3D version) and I'm about to upgrade my GPU to a 5070 Ti. I game at 1440p with a target of 180Hz. Given that the 5800X is starting to feel a bit dated, do you think I'll run into any significant bottlenecks with this setup?

Yes, there will definitely be some bottlenecks due to the age of the 5800X. But honestly, it shouldn't drastically impact your gaming experience overall.

You might run into occasional limits hitting 180Hz in some games with the 5800X, but most games should have no trouble exceeding 90 FPS. Overall, it sounds like your setup will still perform pretty well!

That’s reassuring! I guess the 5800X isn’t the worst choice, but I wish I could’ve gone for the 5800X3D for better performance. Hopefully, it lasts a couple more years until prices drop.
