I'm in search of a GPS tracking device that can be easily placed in my bags or vehicles without any wiring. Just to clarify, this isn't for any questionable activities—I'm a frequent traveler and I want something that will help me keep track of my belongings just in case they're ever stolen. I'm okay with services that require a subscription, but I'd prefer to keep it under $20 a month. Live tracking isn't necessary, and I don't want anything that alerts people that they are being tracked. I use an Android phone and have a plan with AT&T.

You might consider using a Meshtastic unit with a GPS module; this way you can have a small and discreet tracker.
Apple AirTags are a top choice, but keep in mind they don't work well with Android devices. If you need something compatible, check out Tile; it works great with Android and has no subscription fees.
If you're using an iPhone, Apple’s Find My feature works awesome for tracking. While AirTags are reliable, they do have some visibility features that let someone know they're being tracked. For your situation, a different tag might be better, as most will depend on nearby devices to help pinpoint their location. They don't actually use GPS themselves, which is worth noting.
I saw that you mentioned having an Android. What tags would you suggest in that case? My wife has an iPhone and could help, but I've heard that Apple tags can notify others.

AirTags are definitely nice, but if you're on Android, you'll want to stick with alternatives like Tile.
