Hey folks, we're currently managing around 2,000 Windows laptops with the Baramundi Management Suite. While it gets the job done, it feels pretty outdated and lacks modern features unless you really dig in to customize it. Plus, resources and community support for Baramundi are limited, which makes troubleshooting a hassle.
We're on the lookout for alternative solutions and would appreciate any suggestions. Here's what we're considering:
- We primarily need to manage Windows laptops.
- Support for other platforms would be nice, but it's not essential right now.
- We prefer on-prem deployment, but cloud options are also fine.
- It's important to note that we can't use Intune or Autopilot because of an ongoing legal issue with Microsoft that won't be resolved soon.
- While budget isn't a huge concern, a good price-to-value ratio would be appreciated.
If you've had good experiences with modern MDM solutions that might meet these needs, I'd love to hear about them!

You should clarify what you mean by 'manage'—what specific functions are you looking to achieve? For a basic option, consider Action1; it mainly focuses on patch management but offers some basic monitoring too. If you need something with more features, check out MSP RMM tools like NinjaOne. Some resources in the r/msp subreddit outline various options, which could help you figure out what fits best for your needs.

Action1 seems solid! Does it have a free tier, or what are the costs for additional features?
