What are some good resources for PHP developers to read?

I'm looking for recommendations on newsletters, blogs, or personal stories related to PHP and web development. I recently unsubscribed from daily.dev because most of the content was centered around JavaScript and AI tools, which don't really resonate with PHP developers like myself. I'm open to personal blogs or insightful stories that share the challenges developers face and how they overcame them. For instance, I enjoy posts like this one where writers discuss their experiences and solutions. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

JS is definitely the hot topic right now, but don't forget that WordPress, which is PHP-based, still dominates a significant part of web development! So there's still a place for PHP dev insights, especially if you dabble with WordPress.

Besides tech blogs, I also read novels on Royal Road. A bit outside the coding world, but it helps me learn and relax at the same time! Sometimes you just need a break from code and to explore storytelling.

Have you tried [freek.dev](http://freek.dev)? It's run by the co-owner of Spatie and often covers interesting topics about PHP beyond just Laravel. I also used to love Nomad PHP, though they seem to have stopped their talks recently. Still, their archives might have some valuable content for you!

That's a fantastic find! I had no idea Spatie's co-owner had a blog. It seems to have a wealth of information, not just on Laravel but the whole PHP landscape!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I'm glad to see a variety of resources out there. I love exploring personal experiences too, so I appreciate the focus on blogs and stories!

You might want to check out Laracasts and the PHP Foundation. They provide great content on PHP practices and community news. Also, following Taylor Otwell on social media and checking out Laravel News could keep you updated on the broader PHP ecosystem.

I really enjoy the PHP Annotated YouTube channel, though it seems like their newsletter has been inactive for a while. Symfony also has some great online conferences, providing deeper insights into various PHP topics. Even if the pace isn't rapid, it means we can focus on solid architecture and emerging tech!
