What are some no-contract options for getting WiFi?

I'm looking for a way to access WiFi without being tied to a long-term contract, like what companies such as Comcast or Verizon offer. Are there any decent modems or alternatives out there that would help me avoid these contracts?

It's important to clarify—if you don’t want to pay at all, you might be out of luck. You can find free WiFi in some places, but it typically has a limited range of about 30 feet indoors. To get real internet access, you usually need to team a router with an ISP.

You could always buy your own WiFi router, which won't have monthly fees, but keep in mind that you'll still need to sign up with an ISP for internet access to actually connect to the web.

Have you looked into portable options like Solis? They're pretty flexible with no long-term commitments. Most ISPs these days work similarly, letting you leave whenever you want. For instance, I have AT&T Fiber, and I can just return their gear without issues. Just make sure you know if you need home WiFi or something for on-the-go!

If you're in the US, check out T-Mobile's internet service. They don't require a contract, and you won’t have to rent any equipment; just return it when you're done. I considered them when moving to a remote area, but I ended up finding a local provider with gigabit speeds instead!
