I'm trying to upgrade our family PC, which is in pretty bad shape. My mom wants me to build a new machine for around $350. It will mainly be used for light office work: filling out taxes, answering emails, writing documents, and participating in Zoom calls. I've built a gaming PC before, but I'm not sure what would be the best specs for this kind of office PC. Can anyone offer some help?

Have you considered a mini-PC? A Beelink N100 or similar could be a great option and is under $200. They're compact and efficient for light tasks!
For an office PC on a budget, I'd recommend going with an AMD Ryzen G processor that has integrated graphics, like the Ryzen 5 5600G. Pair it with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. If you choose used parts, this setup should serve you well for years!
Would those be a good long-term option? I'm thinking of building something more robust myself to ensure it can handle Windows 11 and last a while.
