Hey everyone! I graduated in November 2024 and I'm still on the hunt for an entry-level IT position (Level 1). I've got about two months of experience from my internship and I'm really eager to break into the industry. I'm curious about which certifications you all would recommend for someone in my position, and I'm also trying to figure out what kind of PC would work best for my job.

During my internship, I worked primarily with a Lenovo ThinkPad, and because I'm on a tight budget right now, I want to make sure I make a smart investment that will help me get my foot in the door. Here's a list of some technologies I dealt with:
- Active Directory (AD)
- Microsoft 365 Admin
- Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Hyper-V
- GoDaddy
- Windows Server
- Remote Support, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

Quick note: GoDaddy isn’t really a tech skill. It's more of a service provider. Focus on skills and certifications that actually enhance your IT knowledge and experience instead!

Honestly, the job situation in Quebec is pretty tough right now. That said, cybersecurity is on the rise, so if you're open to it, you might want to dive into cloud technologies like AWS or Azure, and get comfortable with Linux command line. Those skills are in demand and can really boost your job prospects. Also, check out subreddits like r/Quebecti and r/quebecsysadmin for more insights!

Have you considered looking for positions at Managed Service Providers (MSPs)? Working there for a few years can give you a lot of practical experience, and then you could transition to other companies later. It's a solid stepping stone!

Where do I look for MSP positions, and how can I tell which ones are good options?

Can you DM me with more info about your experience in that area?
