I've been job hunting in the UK and have had a few offers, but nothing substantial over the last couple of months. With 2 years of experience under my belt, I'm hoping to find something around the £60k mark. I've noticed that using platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed hasn't been effective for me lately. It seems that applying directly to companies has yielded better results compared to recruiters constantly pitching FinTech roles. So, I'm curious—what do others in the UK use for finding jobs these days?

Definitely back the recommendation for Welcome to the Jungle. I’ve also heard good things about Haystack and have been trying hiring.cafe lately, though I haven’t had much success yet. Wishing you the best of luck!
It really depends on the industry you’re targeting. For roles around £60k, it's tough with just 2 years of experience unless you’re looking at a few top companies or quant trading positions in London.
Just to clarify, the question is more about job search resources rather than the specifics of experience.
Don't forget the power of networking! Reach out at tech conferences, connect with former colleagues, or even individuals who are linked to your previous jobs.
I’ve had decent luck with Welcome to the Jungle (formerly Otta) for product roles. They list a variety of positions, including software engineering and DevOps opportunities, from both larger and smaller companies.
Thanks for the tip! It's refreshing to get straightforward advice instead of just hearing success stories that don't apply to my situation.
We’re not based in London, but we pay DevOps professionals much higher salaries. Often, we don’t hire people with only 2 years of experience for those roles. You might need to look for more junior positions, even if you're highly skilled, because many employers hesitate to trust someone with limited experience. Consider going for a more general dev job or even a sysadmin role since they can offer good pay for skilled individuals.
That’s not particularly helpful. I think of myself as mid-level and have seen offers around £55k-£60k outside London. My focus is still on finding job sites beyond LinkedIn and Indeed, not on roles I’m not interested in.
It's true that salaries tend to be higher in the US compared to the UK.
Exactly, it varies based on your specific skills. If you've got 2 years in DevOps or similar fields after other tech roles, it makes qualification a lot different than just having 2 years total in the industry.
