I'm on the hunt for a lightweight IDE or editor to use for JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and React Native development. My current setup feels too heavy and slow, so I'm looking for something that meets these criteria: it should be fast and responsive with low resource usage, have great TypeScript support, provide solid tooling for React and React Native like linting, autocomplete, and debugging features, and also be easy to customize with extensions or plugins. I'm open to both IDEs and editors as long as they provide a smooth developer experience. What are you using and what would you recommend? Thanks!

I would suggest using Neovim—it's fast, has built-in LSP support, and is extremely customizable. Just be ready for a learning curve!

You should definitely check out Zed. It's still in active development but feels really smooth most of the time.

Zed has been working really well for me too!

If you have the patience, try Neovim or Emacs. They might take a bit to get used to, but they're incredibly powerful once you do.

I'm also a big fan of Zed! It’s awesome for my development needs.

WebStorm is a solid choice if you don't mind a heavier setup. Otherwise, Vscodium works great for me without performance issues, even on older hardware.
